A lot of research has been done around protein in athletes. Is it good or bad for you? how much protein my body needs? What about people having or experiencing kidney failure? People frequently ask, does a lot of protein can develop cancer? What about your protein needs as you get older (especially if you are in your mid-50s)? How do I prevent sarcopenia? How can I become more active and do my daily activities and feel like if I were in my 20s?
Ensuring you have the correct information from good sources and from research based is the best. There is a lot of noise outside (meaning in the social networks and media) and people tend to take the recommendations from what they hear or gather from other people. The best way is to be curious about the information you are getting and filter out that noise and instead focus on evidence based data that is research based.
For example, I want to share with you this podcast/interview with Dr. Stuart Phillips below that answers some of the questions regarding protein in athletes and why is so important you get the correct amount of protein in your body to fuel your muscles and make you feel better as you get older.
